Around the Sound: 2nd Quarter 2018

King County Real Estate Market Analysis

The Puget Sound is hot, hot...warm! According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, June had more listings in Seattle than any month since 2010 and the median home price in King County dropped for the first time since before the recession. This doesn't mean that the market is back in full favor of buyers, but it does mean a little more wiggle room; there's less chance of the house selling before you even have a chance to tour it. For sellers the time to sell is now, with a market that is still desperate for inventory. The local skylines are littered with cranes and a myriad of new construction happening all around the Sound. That being said, a lot of potential sellers are considering remodeling instead of selling, mostly due to the same frustration than home buyers are facing right now. If you're looking to buy, make sure you connect with a real estate agent and get all of your ducks in a row before you start hunting for your dream home. You'll need to be ready to jump on the opportunity fast!

Summertime in the Pacific Northwest is a time of magic; the Emerald City turns to gold from the sunshine, the sunsets take longer and longer and we take the time to enjoy the front and back porches that we are regularly drawn to.
