Matt van Winkle | Founder & CEO
Matt made his first entrepreneurial move when he decided to pursue real estate in lieu of a traditional law career. After several years as an independent broker, he opened his first RE/MAX office at Green Lake in the summer of 2011, adding offices in Bellevue and Issaquah over the next three years. When he saw inefficiencies in current real estate tech, he developed his own software to save time for the brokerage and its agents. He later co-founded a real estate startup to continue tech development from the agent and broker perspective.
As a licensed attorney, Matt was able to help his agents through the most difficult contract negotiations while consistently improving the brokerage. Now with over 375 agents and 10 offices, RE/MAX Northwest is the fastest growing RE/MAX brokerage in the region and the 5th largest in the United States.
Matt and his team are constantly trying to improve, experimenting in new ways to market and serve clients. With an emphasis on collaboration and growth, RE/MAX Northwest uses new technology to help agents work better and smarter. In every transaction, Matt lives by our motto: Work Hard, Be Nice.

Katrina loves helping people become better at what they do. She’s naturally inclined towards organization, systemization, and simplicity, and she uses those values to ensure that all RE/MAX Northwest agents can operate in a way that makes them happy and productive.
Katrina started with simple one-on-one meetings to help agents with technical issues, but has expanded to teach full classes on technology, productivity, marketing, and much more. She enjoys seeing how the small changes she recommends to her agents can have a huge impact on their businesses and their lives. Katrina enjoys writing, costuming, and completing diet challenges she finds on the internet.
Chief Development Officer
Placing a high value in transparency and ethical practices, Kim runs her business intentionally; on a foundation of non-negotiable integrity, professionalism, and service and she teaches the same. Kim recognizes that her agents are her strongest asset and she loves working side-by-side with the agents and providing them with tools, guidance, and education to help achieve their professional goals. In addition, Kim strives to provide a collaborative and technologically rich work environment focused on relevant and time-saving initiatives. Her efforts to remain on the forefront of real estate systems have resulted in a paperless and fully mobile work environment.
Jared Fraser began his work in the real estate industry with property management and investment real estate. He took his skills to the next level when he started to focus on residential sales for his clients. His ability to make the buying or selling of a home a rewarding and positive experience is something that ensures him a steady referral business, and many happy clients. He began mentoring agents, which grew to becoming a branch manger of our first office. His passion to help agents and to do things right has excelled him to the role of Designated Broker for RE/MAX Northwest where he takes the company motto “Work hard; be nice” to heart and finds the more he helps other agents increase their knowledge and skills, the stronger we all become.
Josie Perkins Ebert
Born and raised in Snohomish County, and licensed as a real estate agent in 2005, Josie partnered with the RE/MAX Northwest team in the summer of 2011. She perfected the art of patience and planning, gaining respect for hard work.
From 2014 to 2018, Josie served as the Branch Manager for our Bellevue office, where she assisted 35 of our finest agents in helping to set and achieve their goals. In her current role as Managing Director, she is focused on the management of RE/MAX Northwest's growth and upward trajectory. Josie enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga or doing any kind of outside activity, especially riding her horse.
Director of Operations
Sophie began her career with RE/MAX Northwest in 2015 and developed a thorough understanding of the real estate industry as an integral resource for brokers. As the Director of Operations, Sophie is the driving force for managing and making sure that the company’s operations are running smoothly across all offices.
Outside of the office, Sophie enjoys playing tennis, exploring Seattle's live music scene, and spending time with her friends and family.
Director of Office Administration
Susan worked as a buyer’s agent and a loan officer assistant before becoming the Director of Office Administration for RE/MAX Northwest. Her ability to assist agents and decipher “agent speak” is truly amazing. She has a great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life.
The most important things in her life are family and friends. Her niece and nephew are the reason she moved to the area. She met her husband the year she arrived and has spent much time playing on the water at Lake Washington, baking and exploring new areas around the Puget Sound.
Senior Executive Assistant
Behind every successful executive is an executive assistant that makes business happen on schedule. She is responsible for making sure Matt van Winkle is continuously moving the brokerage forward.
After spending a few years enjoying a successful wedding photography business with her husband, Anna decided to move away from that industry and focus on growing a career with RE/MAX Northwest. Anna loves exploring wineries around the PNW, spending many weekends in Vancouver, Canada, and enjoying quality time with her husband, daughter, and two kitties.
Catherine grew up in the Seattle area, graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Event Management, and eventually found her way back home to Woodinville. Catherine worked in the event industry for several years, spending most of her time creating beautiful weddings at various wineries. “Work Hard. Be Nice.” is her driving force in keeping Matt’s calendar in order and his many projects running smoothly. In her personal life Catherine enjoys spending time with her family, studying (and sipping) wine, mountain biking and walking puppies at the local animal shelter.
Emma is the Marketing Manager at RE/MAX Northwest, here to help agents turn their marketing goals into reality. An alumni of the University of Idaho, she obtained her degree in Marketing where she developed a love of knowledge for content creation , consumer behavior, and campaign implementation. Always willing to lend a helping hand, she takes pride in doing anything she can to make the agents’ life a little easier! An Idaho girl at heart and an avid lover of the outdoors, Emma also enjoys camping and hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Colleen is the Financial Controller at RE/MAX Northwest and has been with the company for 25 years. Originally from Arizona, she was raised in Seattle and has loved it here ever since.
The most special part of her life is her family, which includes two new daughter-in-laws, her Lab “Charlie”, and many close friends. She spends her spare time enjoying nature, traveling, cooking and gardening.
Kendall is RE/MAX Northwest’s Marketing Administrator. She assists with the creation and coordination of marketing projects for the brokerage and individual agent’s businesses. She joined the RE/MAX Northwest team after graduating from Washington State University, where she earned her degree in Marketing. She is passionate about digital marketing and loves managing the brokerage’s social media and strengthening its online presence. Kendall loves spending quality time with her family and friends. Whatever the season, she likes to stay active with yoga, hiking and skiing.
Training Program Manager
Lucas Grohn is the Training Program Manager at RE/MAX Northwest. His main focus is working with our agents and assisting them in getting lift and stability in their careers. He does this by running live training sessions and mentoring brokers in the field and from coffee shops.
In addition to in-person coaching and training, Lucas also spends time creating many of the systems and tech training videos for the brokerage. He is always available to sit down and talk about your business!
Liz originally joined the team back in 2013 as an office manager and graphic designer. She helped craft the On the Lake brand and even leant her own handwriting to the “Work Hard. Be Nice.” logo. In 2014 she followed a new opportunity to work as a graphic designer in the games industry, and then transitioned into producing and directing for a creative film studio. There she learned the joy of bringing a project all the way from concept to reality. In 2018 Liz found her way back to RE/MAX Northwest to take on the new role of Creative Director to produce the brokerage’s latest video training program.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Ena has always had a passion for design and art. She first pursued a Painting & Drawing degree from the University of Washington in 2012 before enrolling in the Character Animation program at California Institute of the Arts in 2014. After several years of schooling and doing freelance illustration work, Ena decided to move back to Seattle to focus on her design portfolio. In 2018, Ena officially joined the RE/MAX Northwest team as their in-house Graphic Designer, collaborating with the creative and marketing department to provide handcrafted design work for their offices and agents. Outside of RE/MAX Northwest, Ena loves yoga, creating illustrations, playing video games, mixing up cocktails for friends.
Lauren is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. An agent since 2004, Lauren has experienced many different types of transactions in both a booming and a slow real estate market.
In 2018, Lauren took on the additional role of branch manager at our Bellevue office. She enjoys helping agents grow their businesses and achieve their goals. In her spare time, you can find her around Edmonds enjoying time with her husband, daughter and dog, Roger.
From his days as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy through several successful careers, Jerry has served his clients and communities with great care and pride. After 24 years with RE/MAX Northwest, Jerry still has a passion for the real estate industry and his commitment to serve others is evident. He remains involved with the REALTOR® organization both locally and on a statewide basis, wherein he is the current 2018 President of the Washington Realtor Association. When not in the office, you’ll likely find him either on the golf course or doing some other outdoor activity. But he's never too busy to assist when called upon and is always willing to share his knowledge and experience without hesitation.
Vicki grew up in the Pacific Northwest and offers over 36 years of combined real estate brokerage experience (26 years), plus real estate related business expertise in the title insurance, and home warranty industries. In addition, she is an accomplished Staging and Design Consultant. With over a decade as a Managing Broker she takes pride in building teams of professional brokers who have common interest in providing the highest level of customer service and expertise. It's her firm belief that real estate is about relationships which are built on trust, knowledge, and expertise.
Dick Beeson started in real estate over three decades ago and has been at the pinnacle of the business both as a salesman and as an owner/broker. Dick enjoys helping people grow wealth through the buying and selling of real estate. Dick's motto is simple; "I sell finer homes in all price ranges." He has experienced all types of transactions during his career and specializes in helping his clients navigate the deep waters of real estate sales. Dick has been elected by his peers as the President of the Tacoma/Pierce County Association of Realtors. He has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the regional MLS, Northwest MLS among countless committees and work groups during his career and is a recognized authority in all real estate matters.
Kathryn has 39 years of experience in the Real Estate Industry. Kathryn has owned real estate companies and functioned on the management team for two companies, of which one was a large RE/MAX office in Bellevue. She now has the good fortune to be a part of the RE/MAX Northwest group as Branch Manager of the Kirkland office. She believes there is no better company out there for everyone involved within the Management and Staffing and for the Brokers. Kathryn’s years of experience, her understanding of all of the processes and love for what she does are what helps her make that process pleasurable for all that work with her.
Tracie, a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest obtained her BA in Business Administration and began her career in residential and commercial property management and sales. For the past nine years, Tracie’s primary focus has been residential single-family home sales. For over 20 years, Tracie has assisted her clients in achieving their real estate goals while navigating the constraints and possibilities of both thriving and slow real estate markets. In 2018, Tracie became the Branch Manager of our Olympia office following her passion to help and encourage others toward success. Tracie says that "during the fall and winter, my second home in the stands of a Seattle Seahawks home game.”
With nearly 20-years in real estate, Brian Gentry - a former brokerage owner - is a strong advocate of the systems and organization used by RE/MAX that keeps everything running smoothly for the agents. Brian believes in doing things right – he is passionate about assisting the agents in his office, to ensure they receive the best possible training so they, in turn, can serve their clients with skill and expertise. Brian is dedicated to his community, serving on the Othello Chamber Board for many years and organizing highway and fairgrounds clean-up with his church annually. His team, business partner, Kathy Harris and their assistant, Alicia Munoz, received the Othello Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month Award in May 2018 for their community service.
Kathy has a background that includes being a successful Designated Broker and Regional Sales Manager for one of the largest home builders in Washington giving her the leadership skills needed to help other real agents learn to work towards their goals. Because Kathy believes that accountability is a key to putting what you learn into action, she is is eager to help agents create a business plan and then regularly coach them toward success. Whether new to business, or seasoned for years, it is Kathy's goal to share all the tools needed to excel. She places a premium on being available so agents always know they are free to "drop-in" with questions big or small, or simply discuss ideas they have to generate business.
